Our first four graduates are in the top 7% of girls in Kenya

The first four girls that Precious Sisters has sponsored have received
their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KSCE) scores this
March. One of them got an A- (top 2% nationally, and top 1.5% of the
girls who sat the test, who tend to score lower than boys). The other
three received B plain (top 10%, and top 7% for girls who sat the test).
The scores are very impressive and are a clear indication of the
potential of the girls, their drive, and the education they received in
Precious Blood Kilungu.

An A- puts the student in an elite group of top 2,000 girls in the
country and means she is very likely to get to the course and university
of her choice. She is interested in applying for a scholarship through
Zawadi, a US based charity that sponsors Kenyan girls from poor
backgrounds to go to US college, to study in the US.

Precious Blood, Kilungu had in 2008 one of its best results ever
Precious Blood, Kilungu had the best set of KSCE results in 2008 for at
least the last twenty years, and probably in its 51 year history. There
were 15 A's and 24 A -'s. The mean grade for the class of 97 girls who sat
the exam was B +.  The government has stopped compiling league tables
amongst the schools this year for the first time, because they believe
that it encourages cheating, particularly amongst the private secondary
schools.

However the national newspaper have done a survey among the schools that
usually feature at the top of these tables and published an unofficial
table, which shows Precious Blood, Kilungu at number 16. Precious
Sisters is proud to be working with one of the best schools in Kenya.
The results are even more impressive when taking into account the fact
that there are 18 National Schools that get the brightest students at
the primary school exam stage.
