Our first four graduates are in the top 7% of girls in Kenya

The first four girls that Precious Sisters has sponsored have received
their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KSCE) scores this
March. One of them got an A- (top 2% nationally, and top 1.5% of the
girls who sat the test, who tend to score lower than boys). The other
three received B plain (top 10%, and top 7% for girls who sat the test).
The scores are very impressive and are a clear indication of the
potential of the girls, their drive, and the education they received in
Precious Blood Kilungu.

An A- puts the student in an elite group of top 2,000 girls in the
country and means she is very likely to get to the course and university
of her choice. She is interested in applying for a scholarship through
Zawadi, a US based charity that sponsors Kenyan girls from poor
backgrounds to go to US college, to study in the US.

Two of the B's were "high B" (a grade or 63 or above) meaning there is a
high likelihood to receive a place in a Kenyan Public University. The
girls applied to various courses including Law, Urban Planning,
Criminology, Mass Communications, Business Administration, Food
Nutrition, Tourism and Teaching.

Not all four finalised their plans for the coming 18 months, before the
start of their university studies, but all are interested in finding a
job or volunteering. One girl started working as an English and
Kiswahili teacher in a secondary school. Two other girls are seeking
teaching jobs as primary school teachers. The last one intends to
volunteer near her home, helping children who were abandoned by their
parents.  She is grateful of the opportunity given to her and hoping to
encourage other kids to look for similar opportunities.
